About Wendy

Unanimously considered the most uncoordinated six year old in her ballet class by the other parents, Wendy was convinced by her father to take up martial arts instead. Little did her parents realize, this was the environment her love of movement and attention to detail would blossom. A few years later, she earned her black belt in American Tang Soo Do. She was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, but continued to learn, train, and move. Ultimately losing her large intestine to the disease, she pressed forward in martial arts and received her second black belt in Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do.

Taking a break from martial arts to focus on her studies, she graduated with a B.S. in Cognitive Science, with a specialization in Neuroscience and a minor in Biology from the University of California, San Diego. Working as a software engineer, she rekindled her love of movement when she joined a half marathon training program with Team Challenge to raise funds for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). She mentored several teammates through five race seasons and went on to run 34 half marathons and 3 full marathons.

In 2014, she hung up her New Balances for a pair of rock climbing shoes. She fell in love with a whole new world of training styles and dove head first into calisthenics, aerial, and competed in two body building competitions at the end of 2017. Working through her own physical, health, and everyday life setbacks sparked her career change into fitness and fuels her passion for sharing her knowledge and experiences with her clients on every level. Her commitment to provide her clients the best resources include furthering her own education becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and pursuing a certification in Integrative Nutrition.
